Stock or custom
When a custom trolley is worth it.
Imported flat-pack trolleys are cheap and fine for many jobs. A made-to-fit trolley earns its price when trays, doorways, loads or wash-down routines don’t match a catalogue size.

Tray standards buyers mention most: gastronorm 1/1 is 530 × 325 mm, bakery trays are commonly 600 × 400 mm, and some kitchens use imperial sheet pans. Send the tray size and pan depth rather than a trolley model number.

What tray sizes can a rack trolley take?
Whatever you use. The common ones are gastronorm 1/1 (530 × 325 mm) and 600 × 400 mm bakery trays, but runners can be set for other trays, deep pans or mixed sizes. Send the tray size, pan depth and how many levels you need.
Why pay more than for an imported trolley?
Imported flat-pack trolleys are made to a price and a standard size. A welded trolley is made to your length, height, trays and load, with no bolts to loosen and no open tube ends. If a standard trolley fits, it may be the better buy.
Will it fit through our doors or into the cool room?
It will if we know the openings. Measure the narrowest clear door width, lift car and cool-room door, plus any height limits, and the trolley is designed around them.
What castors do you use?
Castors are chosen for each trolley: the load, the floor, drains and thresholds, wash-down and any cool-room or oven use. Braked and swivel arrangements are agreed with you before fabrication.
Can you rebuild an old trolley instead of replacing it?
Often yes. Re-welding cracked frames, replacing castors and re-decking a trolley is usually quicker and cheaper than a new one, and it keeps the trolley you already know fits.
Do you make stands for specific machines?
Yes. Matt builds heavy-duty stands around the machine’s footprint, operating weight and working height, with any shelves or service openings you need. Send the machine model or its dimensions and weight.
