A working bin built for the material and the truck.

Skip and hook bins

We fabricate steel skip bins and hook-lift bins for waste contractors, yards and industrial sites. The body, floor, doors and handling interface are built around the material being collected and the equipment moving it. Bring your truck details or an existing bin to measure, and we can quote a replacement or a more useful custom layout.

01 / The transport bin options

Plan filling, moving and emptying as one job.

Bulky light waste, abrasive scrap and dense material put different demands on a bin. We agree the usable shape, supports, wear areas and handling details before fabrication, with the selected finish and drainage or sealing needs included in the brief.

01

Gantry and skip bins

Open or covered steel bins with lifting attachment details matched to the specified gantry equipment and the intended loaded use.

02

Hook-lift bins

Roll-on bins with the subframe, hook connection, rollers and rear-door arrangement coordinated with your hook-lift system's drawings and clearances.

03

Scrap and industrial collection bins

Bodies arranged for awkward or abrasive contents, with access openings and replaceable wear details where these suit the handling process.

04

Covered and access-door variants

Metal lids, enclosed tops or access doors for the way the bin is filled and emptied. Latch positions, seals and operator access are agreed for the actual contents.

02 / Price & scope

Indicative custom transport bin pricing.

Researched planning estimates in NZD, excluding GST. Body size, contents, handling interface, door construction and finish determine the quote. This is a bin purchase estimate, not skip hire or waste collection.

Scope & other costs

Hook-lift subframes, rollers, complex doors, covers, specialist lining, project-specific assessment or testing and delivery are separate scope items. Repeat bins can be quoted as a batch once the design is settled. Truck lifting equipment and waste disposal are not part of the bin price.

04 / The practical details

Questions about custom skip bins and hook-lift bins.

Can you match the bins already used by my truck?

Yes. Send the loader model, interface drawing and clear photos, or arrange to bring an existing bin for measurement. Hook height, rail spacing, rollers, clearances and attachment geometry must suit the actual equipment; we agree those details before building.

Can you make a bin for heavy scrap or dense material?

Yes. The expected load, impact during filling and abrasion guide the body, base and wear details. Tell us the material and how it is loaded, as volume alone does not establish the load. Any rating, assessment and testing required for the job are defined with the design.

Can the bins stack or have sealed doors?

Yes, those features can be incorporated into the brief. Stacking needs the intended arrangement and loads; sealed doors need the contents and leakage requirements. We design and quote those details explicitly instead of assuming that every open-bin layout will suit them.

Can you repair a damaged bin or build several matching replacements?

Yes. Send photos of the damage and the areas wearing fastest. Matt can assess whether a repair, replacement floor or new body is the better approach. For a batch, agreeing the first design also helps keep interfaces and replacement parts consistent.
