Does an outdoor fireplace need consent?
A free-standing outdoor fire usually does not, but built-in fireplaces and anything near a boundary or a building may. Check with your council. Auckland also has open-fire and smoke rules in some areas.
What steel do you use?
Matt will confirm the material and thickness after reviewing the design and intended use. Discuss any flue, installation and maintenance requirements before the work is agreed.
Can you build a firebox into my existing fireplace?
Yes. Send the opening size and a photo and we fabricate a firebox, smoke shelf and flue adapter to slide into the masonry.
