Questions about custom boat boarding platforms and ladders.
Can you work around an outboard or stern drive?
Yes. Send the engine details and photos showing its steering and tilt movement. The platform outline and mounts can be designed around the required clearances while keeping the boarding route practical.
Can the ladder be removed or folded away?
Yes. A removable or folding arrangement can be included, with the stowed position, retention and handholds planned together. Tell Matt how the boat is used and where the ladder will be kept.
Can you replace an existing metal duckboard or its frame?
Yes. Send the metal deck dimensions, its condition and photos of the current supports. Matt can fabricate a new metal platform or support frame and discuss any changes needed at the boat’s attachment points.
What do you need to establish the mounting arrangement?
Photos of the inside and outside of the transom, the vessel construction and any drawings are useful. The intended users and loads, backing structure and access for fitting determine the brackets and connections for the completed assembly.
