Questions
Common questions about stock water troughs and feeders.
Stainless or aluminium?
Aluminium is cheaper and lighter and fine for water and dry feed. Stainless suits meal, minerals and anything acidic, and is the choice for calf feeders that get scrubbed daily.
Will stock damage it?
Troughs are built from 2–3 mm plate with rolled edges and a heavy base rail, so cattle leaning and horses pawing do not dent or tip them. Anchor points are included for staking down.
Can you fit a float valve?
Yes. Troughs come with a protected valve housing sized for the standard NZ float valves, and a bung for draining and cleaning.
