01 / Made for the job

Plan the crossing, supports and approach as one job.

A replacement grid needs to fit its supports and the vehicles that cross it. A new installation also needs the pit, drainage and fence connections planned together. Matt works through the metalwork and required verification before fabrication.

01

Complete steel grid assemblies

A new fabricated grid and supporting steel frame for an agreed opening and foundation design.

02

Replacement grids

Replacement crossing sections made from measured supports and the required current vehicle loading.

03

Sectional crossing assemblies

Multiple grid sections where the layout, transport or maintenance brief calls for an assembly that can be handled in parts.

04

Wing and interface steelwork

Connecting frames and side steelwork coordinated with the fence line, supporting structure and vehicle approach.

02 / Price & scope

Indicative custom cattle-stop grid pricing.

Planning estimates in NZD, excluding GST. Crossing width, span, loading, section layout, finish and support details determine the final quote.

04 / The practical details

Questions about custom steel cattle stops and access grids.

Can you build one for tractors and heavy trucks?

Yes. Matt has extensive experience with rated fabrication and can build the grid for the specified traffic. Send vehicle and axle loads along with the support design so the complete crossing and required verification can be agreed.

Can you replace a grid over an existing pit?

Yes. We can make a replacement around the measured pit and suitable supports. The condition and capacity of those supports are checked alongside the new grid design, particularly if heavier vehicles now use the crossing.

Can the grid lift out for cleaning?

Yes. Removable sections and handling points can be included in the design. Tell Matt how you will clear the pit and what lifting equipment is available so the section size and handling arrangement suit maintenance.

What needs to be ready before it is installed?

The support levels, foundations, drainage and approach must match the agreed design. Send the site drawings and contractor details early so the metal frame, fixing positions and installation sequence can be coordinated.
