Questions

Common questions about commercial extraction hoods.

Do you install the extraction system as well?

We fabricate and can hang the hood. The fan, ducting, make-up air and fire suppression are done by a mechanical services contractor, and we work to their spigot sizes and positions.

How much overhang does a hood need?

As a rule the canopy should extend at least 150 mm past the cooking equipment on each open side, and the mechanical design will confirm this. We size the hood to the drawing.

Can you replace an old rusted hood?

Yes. We measure the existing canopy and duct positions and build a like-for-like replacement in 304 stainless, usually installable in a single morning.
