01 / The shelter options

Put the roof and posts where they work for the site.

The best shelter keeps useful space clear and directs water away from entrances and walking routes. We look at how people approach, where they gather and what needs access before choosing the support and roof layout.

01

Waiting and shared-space shelters

Cover an entrance, waiting area or outdoor break space with a complete metal shelter. All-metal seating and partial screening can be included while keeping useful sightlines and access.

02

Bike and equipment shelters

Provide a metal roof over parked bikes, mobility equipment or frequently used outdoor gear. Rack spacing, manoeuvring room, access and security attachments are coordinated with the shelter frame.

03

Covered walkways and building links

Connect entrances or protect a pedestrian route with a custom roofed structure. Changes in level, doors, drainage and connections to adjacent buildings are considered along the full route.

04

Sports and work-area shelters

Create a dugout, sideline waiting area or covered outdoor work bay. The activity, clear openings and optional metal side panels shape the assembly; larger layouts are developed as individual projects.

02 / Price & scope

Indicative metal shelters pricing.

Planning estimates in NZD, excluding GST. Covered area, support layout, metal roof specification, screens and finish determine the final quote. Longer walkways and larger multi-bay shelters are individually priced.

04 / The practical details

Questions about custom metal shelters and covered walkways.

Can you include the roof as well as the steel frame?

Yes. This is a complete shelter fabrication offer, including metal posts, roof structure, metal roofing and agreed drainage pieces. We can also coordinate all-metal seating, screens and bike racks as part of the same project.

Can a shelter connect to an existing building?

Yes. Send photos and details of the building structure, roof edge, doors and drainage. The connection, flashing, movement and support requirements can then be resolved with the project designer before fabrication.

Can you work to requirements for a school or commercial site?

Yes. Matt has extensive experience with compliance and rated fabrication. Share the site and project requirements so access, exposure, structural design and any required documentation are incorporated into the shelter brief.

Can the shelter be moved or extended later?

Yes, that can be built into the brief. Bolted sections, connection points and the support arrangement can be planned around future changes, while the handling method and new-site requirements are agreed for the actual move or extension.

Let’s make it fit

Show Matt what you’re working with.

Send a site sketch and photos showing the area to cover, nearby buildings, ground levels and the paths people or vehicles use. Include clearances, drainage routes, proposed foundations, site exposure and any seating, screening or access requirements. A full project brief is welcome even if the final layout is still being developed.
